Were the Highlights of Programs in cities and towns across India as part of
MOURNING and Forgiveness for Manipur
Inter Faith Forum, Imphal, EKTA Parishad, WNTA, Karwan e Muhabbat and COVA Peace Network coordinated the Programs in different StatesIn Imphal, Manipur, over a hundred people gathered representing five major religions, Buddhist, Christians, Hindu, Islam, Jain, Sanamahi and spiritual communities like ISKCON, Divine Life Society and Brahmakumaris
To pray together for all the precious lives lost in violent conflicts in
Manipur and expressed their concern and sympathies for the pain and sufferings of the survivers.
The Interfaith gathering created Manipur Peace Fund- with One Rupee a Day Donation-dedicated to educate the younger generation in peacebuilding and conflict resolution.
At a Program organised by COVA Peace Network in Hyderabad, young students from Manipur who have to take shelter in Hyderabad narrated how they saw their villages
burning in front of their eyes and how the army saved them and moved their families to camps for safety.Pandit Harinarayan Tiwari and Muneeruddin Mujahid lead the Multi Faith Prayers followed by Meditation, Peace Songs and appeals by participants to the authorities and people of Manipur to secure immediate peace in the State.
It was also observed that Manipur should be a lesson for the rest of the country and all communities should learn to live together in harmony else they can also be devastated by
uncontrollable violence in years to come as is happening in Manipur.
