Communal Violence Condemnation
Press CoverageTelangana Citizens for Unity and Peace (T-CUP)
Condemn incidences of Communal Hate and Violence
After peace in Hyderabad and Secunderabad for the past 12 years, suddenly there are four incidents of communal vandalism and hate mongering in the past two months. All these incidents were deliberate instigations by vested interests to spread hate and poison through social media. This resulted in flash points bringing thousands of common people to come on to the streets – threatening vandalism and violence.
T CUP Demands:
1. The government should take strict and exemplary action against
anyone indulging in vandalism or hate mongering
2. Should not allow mobs to take law into their own hands.
3. Establish Fast Track Courts
4. Police should immediately arrest all the accused,
showing no bias or favour
5. All political parties, must unequivocally condemn all hate campaigns and violence
6. Media to act responsibly
7. Members of the public, especially youth, should not blame or act against entire communities for the actions of one or few deranged individuals or groups driven by hate.
8. Every citizen must realise that in every communal incident,
it is the poor people – irrespective of the community they belong to – who pay the price with their life, livelihoods and property due to the ensuing riots.
We urge all citizens to come together across community and
caste lines to protect themselves, their families, and the city.
